Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Civil Drafter/Designer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will use CAD software to prepare various drawings, including plats, property sketches, alignment sheets, and construction methods packages. You will support designers, engineers, and project managers on transmission pipeline routing projects and ensure the quality of drawings before submission for peer review.

Responsibilities

• Use CAD to prepare plats, property sketches, alignment sheets, permit drawings, hydrostatic drawings, and typical construction methods packages.
• Support mappers, engineers, and project managers on transmission pipeline routing projects.
• Utilize Excel tables with engineering information to add data to drawings.
• Perform self-checking of drawings to ensure quality before peer review.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control of other designers and drafters.

Essential Skills

• 7+ years of design experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D focusing on civil site plans, grading/drainage, and land development.
• Experience in industrial projects if not entirely in the natural gas sector.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Map.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• GIS experience or understanding.
• Experience in the natural gas or water pipeline industry or projects.
• Proficiency with GIS software.
• An associate degree is preferred, but a high school diploma is required.

Work Environment

This position offers a remote work structure, requiring excellent communication and proactive collaboration with the team. You will work directly with a project manager and team leads in a supportive engineering environment. The company offers a standard 40-hour PTO and paid holiday offerings during the consultant period. With a strong backlog of repeat and new client business, the company is diversifying into the natural gas distribution space and has a renewable portfolio. For full-time employees, there is an extremely lucrative bonus structure where high-performing years can result in a 40-50% bonus at the end of the year Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
