Database Administrator – SQL
Job Description:
- Design, build, administer, and support SQL database environments across customer-managed platforms
- Ensure database performance, availability, reliability, and security in production environments
- Monitor, diagnose, and resolve database performance and stability issues
- Perform backup, restore, HA/DR, and disaster recovery planning and execution
- Optimize existing environments and contribute to standardization through documentation and SOPs
- Engage directly with customers through incident response, change requests, meetings, and status updates
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent hands-on experience
- 3–5 years of experience supporting SQL database environments (managed services experience preferred)
- Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (on-prem and/or cloud-based)
- Strong knowledge of: Backup and restore strategies, High availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR), Performance tuning and optimization
- Experience supporting large or complex database environments
- Exposure to at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- One or more database-related certifications, such as: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Database – Specialty, GCP Cloud Database Engineer (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire)
- ITIL v3+ (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
