Junior Power BI Developer

BCN is a leading managed IT services provider and technology consultant, specializing in transformative technology solutions. The Junior Power BI Developer will assist in creating reports and dashboards, handling data tasks, and supporting data visualization efforts, while developing their skills in Azure analytics capabilities.

Responsibilities

• You will support senior developers and Team Leads in delivering high-quality reports and dashboards, while also developing your own capability and confidence in taking ownership of tasks assigned by Project Leads
• You’ll have the opportunity to work both independently and collaboratively as part of wider project teams
• The role has a strong focus on working with data, including data cleaning, transformation, and modelling, alongside supporting client-facing data visualisation within project work
• You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency, while supporting the troubleshooting and resolution of issues within datasets and reporting outputs

Skills

• Experience creating and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports, with a focus on clear, user-friendly visualisation
• Strong understanding of data modelling fundamentals, including relationships, granularity, and star schema design
• Ability to prepare, clean, and transform data using Power Query, with awareness of ETL processes
• Working knowledge of DAX for basic measures and calculated columns
• Familiarity with core data sources (Excel, SQL, APIs) and basic SQL querying
• Understanding of data security and governance principles, including Row-Level Security (RLS)
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and gather/report requirements clearly
• Proactive learner who collaborates well and documents work to support handover and continuity
