Medical Student Tutor

EZ Medicine is a premier academic support service designed by medical students, for medical students. We are committed to transforming learners into educators through personalized mentorship and a structured support system. Our tutors work closely with students at every level—from pre-med to clinical years—fostering not just knowledge, but confidence and independence in their learning journey. We are seeking dedicated Junior Tutors and Senior Tutors to support our growing community. Both roles are ideal for motivated, compassionate individuals with a strong grasp of medical content and a passion for teaching. Tutors will work closely with students in a supportive environment, utilizing innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance the learning experience. This position requires strong communication skills, a background in education, and the ability to adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of learners. Whether you're early in your tutoring journey or a seasoned educator, there's a place for you on our team. Overall Responsibilities
- Educate and support students in various subjects, focusing on individualized learning plans.
- Develop engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
- Implement effective tutoring strategies that promote understanding and retention of material.
- Utilize learning technology to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve academically.
- Assist in curriculum development by contributing ideas for new teaching materials and methods.
Junior Tutor Responsibilities
- Shadow senior tutors to learn best practices
- Assist in session planning and resource development
- Tutor students one-on-one under supervision
- Participate in ongoing training and feedback cycles
- Support students in pre-medical or early medical coursework
Ideal for:
- Medical students (M2–M4 or equivalent)
- Individuals with approximately 1 year of experience working with pre-medical or early medical students (e.g., tutoring, peer mentoring, TA roles)
Senior Tutor Responsibilities
- Lead one-on-one virtual tutoring sessions
- Develop customized content and study plans for students
- Mentor junior tutors and model educational best practices
- Collaborate with leadership to innovate our question bank and resource library
- Track student progress and communicate with leadership as needed
Ideal for:
- Clinical-year medical student (M3–M4), residents
- Individuals with 1+ years of experience tutoring or mentoring medical students
- Comfortable working independently and guiding others in educational strategy
General Qualifications (both roles)
- Strong academic background in preclinical and/or clinical subjects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for education, mentorship, and student success
- Reliable internet connection and comfort with virtual platforms (Google Meet, Google Drive, etc.)
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience strongly preferred
