[Remote] Human Resources Benefits Coordinator

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Altea Healthcare is seeking a Human Resources Benefits Coordinator to support the administration of employee benefits programs. This role involves managing enrollments, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with various regulations while partnering with HR, Payroll, and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Process new hire enrollments and benefit changes in HRIS and benefits administration systems
  • Maintain accurate employee records related to promotions, transfers, terminations, pay changes, and qualifying life events
  • Respond to employee questions regarding benefits eligibility, enrollments, and plan details
  • Conduct routine audits to ensure accuracy across HRIS, payroll, and vendor systems
  • Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions and employee eligibility updates
  • Support compliance activities related to ACA, COBRA, FMLA, and HIPAA
  • Assist with employee communications, benefits materials, and open enrollment activities
  • Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and brokers to resolve employee issues and support service delivery

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 1–2 years of benefits administration experience
  • Working knowledge of ACA, COBRA, FMLA, and HIPAA regulations
  • Experience with HRIS and benefits administration systems
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  • 1–2 years of general HR experience preferred
