[Remote] Network Operation Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. NR Consulting is looking for a Network Operation Engineer to monitor and maintain enterprise network infrastructure. The role involves troubleshooting network issues, managing network changes, and ensuring compliance with security policies.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain enterprise network infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime and performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to LAN, WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi, and data center networks
- Configure, manage, and support routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for network incidents and implement preventive measures
- Monitor network performance and optimize bandwidth utilization
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support network-related projects and deployments
- Manage network changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities following change management processes
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices
- Create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
- Participate in on-call support and provide timely resolution of critical network issues
Skills
- 8+ years of experience in Network Operations or Network Engineering
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, STP, and VPN technologies
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or similar networking equipment
- Experience with firewalls such as Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet, or Check Point
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar
- Experience with incident management and ticketing tools like ServiceNow or Jira
- Good understanding of network security principles and best practices
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
