Harnham is partnering with a large-scale consumer platform to find a Senior Machine Learning Engineer who will take ownership of critical optimization systems that directly influence user experience and revenue. This high-impact role focuses on improving production machine learning models that drive optimization, prediction, and ranking systems, allowing for measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Production machine learning models that drive optimization, prediction, and ranking systems
- Ongoing model performance analysis and identification of improvement opportunities
- Feature engineering, model tuning, and architecture refinement
- Experimentation frameworks and measurement of business impact
- Translation of data insights into production-ready model improvements
- Continuous model retraining and adaptation to evolving user behavior
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Machine Learning Engineering, Applied ML, or Data Science
- Strong Python skills with regular hands-on development
- Advanced SQL, including complex joins across large datasets
- Experience working with high-volume data (millions of rows across multiple datasets)
- Proven ability to build, deploy, and improve production ML models
- Strong understanding of feature engineering and model performance optimization
- Experience writing production-quality code (testing, reviews, documentation)
- Ability to operate independently and own technical decisions
- Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable business impact
- Experience with recommendation systems, ranking, personalization, or optimization models
- Exposure to advertising systems, bidding, or user value modeling
- Familiarity with modern data platforms and feature stores
- Experience working in high-scale consumer or marketplace environments
