[Remote] Senior Software Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Milford is seeking a Senior Software Engineer / Engineering Manager to lead development across their platform and scale their technology and engineering team. This hands-on leadership role involves architecting and building software, managing engineering operations, mentoring developers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to create user-facing products.
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and development across web and mobile platforms
- Design and develop scalable APIs using .NET (C# / F#)
- Build scalable backend systems and services
- Drive frontend development using React and React Native
- Make key technical decisions around infrastructure and scalability
- Establish engineering best practices and development workflows
- Review code and maintain high standards for quality and performance
- Manage and mentor developers across the engineering team
- Help recruit, interview, and onboard future engineers
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and leadership teams
- Translate business goals into technical execution plans
- Build and ship new features across web and mobile applications
- Improve existing systems, infrastructure, and application performance
Skills
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience leading engineering teams or managing developers
- Strong experience building APIs with .NET (C# / F#)
- Strong experience with React and modern frontend architecture
- Experience designing scalable backend systems and services
- Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
- Understanding of scalable system architecture and API design
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Startup or high-growth environment experience preferred
- Experience with React Native or mobile development
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and DevOps workflows
- Experience building scalable consumer-facing platforms
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
- Experience with AI integrations or community-focused platforms
- Previous experience helping grow or lead an engineering department
