[Remote] Systems Administrator
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Agile5 Technologies, Inc. is a Woman-Owned Small Business specializing in IT services and enterprise software systems. They are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to maintain and support production systems with strong Linux fundamentals and an automation-first mindset.
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems in production environments
- Deploy, manage, and support containerized applications using Docker and/or Podman
- Support container orchestration platforms such as Docker Compose (deployment, troubleshooting, and operations)
- Automate system configuration and provisioning using Ansible
- Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Python) to automate routine operational tasks
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents across infrastructure and application layers
- Maintain system security, including patching, access controls, and certificate management
- Provide support for Java applications using the Spring framework running on Tomcat with Nginx
- Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures
Skills
- Experience working in heavily regulated environments
- 3 - 7+ years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator
- Strong experience with Linux system administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with containerization using Docker or Podman
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible
- Proficiency in scripting (Bash and/or Python)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
- Experience with SELinux, system hardening, and security best practices
- Experience managing internal certificate authorities and trust chains
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, ELK, Datadog, etc.)
- Experience supporting both operations (O&M) and development (modernization) efforts
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including experience with Docker networking
