[Remote] Virtual Support Teacher (Supplemental Position)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Fort Scott Unified School District 234 is seeking a Virtual Support Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The primary role involves providing academic assistance and content-area support to students in the virtual learning environment, ensuring they successfully navigate their coursework and access necessary resources.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic assistance and content-area support to virtual students in assigned subject areas
- Respond to student questions regarding coursework, assignments, concepts, and learning activities
- Assist students in accessing available district resources and support services
- Maintain records of student contacts and academic support provided
- Participate in meetings and training related to the virtual school program as requested
- Perform other duties related to supporting student success in the virtual learning program
- Monitor district email and assigned communication platforms regularly
- Respond to student and family inquiries within twenty-four (24) hours during the regular school week whenever possible
- Be available to provide timely academic support throughout the school year
Skills
- Current Kansas teaching license required
- Demonstrated knowledge of assigned content area(s)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively support students in a virtual learning environment
- Proficiency with educational technology and online learning platforms
