Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement engaging online Language Arts curriculum for various age groups and proficiency levels. Create and facilitate interactive online lessons, discussions, and writing workshops. Assess student writing, reading comprehension, and critical analysis skills, providing detailed and constructive feedback. Develop comprehensive lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that align with learning objectives. Utilize a variety of digital tools and platforms to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Collaborate with instructional designers and other subject matter experts to ensure curriculum quality and relevance. Stay current with best practices in language arts education and online pedagogy. Provide individualized support and guidance to students to help them achieve their academic goals. Mentor and guide junior instructors in online teaching methodologies and curriculum development. Foster a positive, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating online learning community.
Requirements
Master's degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience teaching Language Arts at the secondary or post-secondary level. Proven experience in developing and delivering online courses or educational content. Strong understanding of literary analysis, composition theory, and rhetorical strategies. Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills. Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and various online collaboration tools. Ability to create engaging multimedia content and facilitate dynamic online discussions. Experience working independently in a remote environment and managing time effectively. A passion for literature and a commitment to fostering strong communication skills in students. This role supports initiatives related to Detroit, Michigan, US educational outreach and requires occasional participation in virtual team meetings.
