Senior Logistics Coordinator - Fleet Management
Our client is a rapidly expanding logistics and supply chain company seeking a Senior Logistics Coordinator specializing in fleet management to join their entirely remote operations team. This role is critical for optimizing the efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness of our client's extensive transportation network. You will leverage cutting-edge technology and analytical tools to manage daily fleet operations, ensure compliance with transportation regulations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers the flexibility of a remote-first work environment, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within the US. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily fleet operations, including dispatch, routing, and load optimization for a large fleet of vehicles. Monitor driver performance, adherence to schedules, and compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Utilize fleet management software and telematics systems to track vehicle location, performance, and maintenance needs. Develop and implement effective routing strategies to minimize transit times and fuel consumption. Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and track preventative maintenance and repairs for all vehicles. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS). Manage relationships with third-party carriers and service providers when necessary. Analyze fleet data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings. Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, operational costs, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Contribute to strategic planning for fleet expansion, technology adoption, and operational enhancements. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior logistics staff. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics coordination, with a significant focus on fleet management. Demonstrated experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and fleet management software. Strong understanding of transportation regulations, including DOT compliance and Hours of Service. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis. Experience in developing and implementing operational improvements.
