Job Description
Strategic Impact & Responsibilities: Drive Commodity Strategy: Develop and execute category strategies that align with Gas Power objectives, ensuring a robust pipeline of high-performing, cost-competitive, and reliable suppliers. Negotiate & Influence: Lead complex contract negotiations, securing optimal commercial terms while mitigating risk. Leverage data-driven insights to influence stakeholders and drive internal alignment. Performance Optimization: Actively manage supplier performance across the SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) spectrum. Proactively identify bottlenecks and resolve escalations before they impact project timelines. Lead Process Innovation: Identify and spearhead process improvements to increase sourcing efficiency and supply chain resiliency. Technical Stewardship: Build deep subject matter expertise in fluid commodities, serving as a technical advisor to engineering and project teams. Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning. Eligibility Requirements Willingness to travel domestically and internationally ~50%.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field 5+yrs of experience in fluid systems in the gas power industry. 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or supply chain, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial engineering context. Extensive experience with developing sourcing strategies and negotiating contracts. Desired Characteristics Proven track record of managing supplier relationships, navigating complex contract negotiations, and reading legal terms. Strong analytical mindset; ability to interpret data to inform strategic purchasing decisions. Demonstrated project management experience, with the ability to lead initiatives through to completion in a cross-functional environment. Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
