Underwriting Technician

The Underwriting Technician plays a vital support role in ensuring service excellence by applying a thorough understanding of systems and workflows, with responsibilities including processing policy changes and clearing accounts for new customers.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and apply underwriting guidelines and procedures to support service level standards
- Review and clear accounts for new customers and process policy change requests that do not require underwriting decisions
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate policy service
- Maintain a strong customer service orientation in all tasks and communications
- Adapt to and support ongoing changes in technology, systems, and workflows
Skills

- 1-2 years of insurance related experience
- Knowledge of personal computers
- Organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- Basic math and data entry skills
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of Associate in General Insurance Designation
